Get started

Follow the Island Of Warden Crystals golem-wrench quest in the Quest List. Obtain the wrench and use it on the corresponding crystal veins. The wrench extracts blue, violet and green crystal shards; ordinary iron-ore mining uses the pick and is a separate activity.

A mining attempt

Use the wrench on an active vein. A failed attempt consumes time, not the vein. A successful attempt awards shards and depletes it; wait for regeneration or move to another vein. Increasing the tool's rarity improves both success chance and yield.

Recognize the crystal veins

This capture shows the colored crystal formations used for shard mining. Use the golem wrench on an active vein and move on after a successful extraction depletes it.

Stage 1: common wrench

Base success is 8%, or 15% with the applicable VIP mining benefit. A successful vein gives 1 shard normally, or 2–4 with that VIP benefit. There is no ancient-gold or Ascended Token bonus roll at this stage.

Stage 2: ancient wrench, rarity 2

Craft your common wrench with 2,500 blue, 2,500 violet and 2,500 green shards plus 100,000 Supreme. Success becomes 12% normally or 19% with VIP. Yield is twice stage 1. Each successfully mined vein has a separate 0.5% chance for one ancient gold coin.

Worked example
Blue shard Blue shard2,500 for rarity 2 · 7,500 for rarity 3
Violet shard Violet shard2,500 for rarity 2 · 7,500 for rarity 3
Green shard Green shard2,500 for rarity 2 · 7,500 for rarity 3
Keep all three shard colors

Wrench upgrades need blue, violet and green shards together. Saving only one color leaves the recipe incomplete.

Stage 3: ascended wrench, rarity 3

Craft your rarity-2 wrench with 7,500 of each shard plus 250,000 Supreme. Success becomes 16% normally or 23% with VIP. Yield is three times stage 1. Each success independently rolls 1% for an ancient gold coin and 1% for an Ascended Token; both can occur on the same success.

Worked example
Common · rarity 18% base success · 1× yield
Ancient · rarity 212% base success · 2× yield · 100,000 Supreme recipe
Ascended · rarity 316% base success · 3× yield · 250,000 Supreme recipe
One wrench, three progression stages

The same golem wrench changes rarity through crafting. These cards explain the stages; they are not new item sprites.

Refine fragments into shards

In Alchemist crafting, 10 cyan crystal fragments make 1 blue shard; 10 red fragments make 1 violet shard; 10 green fragments make 1 green shard. Check the recipe quantity before spending a large stack.

Worked example
10 cyan → 1 blue 10 cyan → 1 blueBlue crystal shard
10 red → 1 violet 10 red → 1 violetViolet crystal shard
10 green → 1 green 10 green → 1 greenGreen crystal shard
Three separate refinement recipes

Each recipe consumes ten matching fragments and produces one shard.

Refine shards into Supreme fragments

Ten blue, ten violet and ten green shards produce one Supreme fragment. There is no additional Supreme charge for these conversion recipes. Decide whether to save shards for the next wrench upgrade before converting them.

Tool safeguards

The item remains a golem wrench; its name and rarity frame identify the stage. Crafting requires the exact previous rarity and rejects mirrored tools. Blacksmith upgrades, rarity keys, crystals, Mind books and defusion cannot alter or consume the wrench. A higher-rarity wrench is not an equipment-stat bonus.

What to do next

First save enough of all three shard colors for stage 2. At stage 2, decide between funding other goals with materials and saving for stage 3. Bonus coins and tokens are chance rewards per successful vein, not guaranteed income per click.
