Interactive quick start
Learn this system in game
The client can walk you through these controls directly inside the live system window. The same steps are listed here for reference.
- 01
A new ability is yours
You just learned a buff or debuff spell. Unlike an attack spell it does not deal damage on its own: it trades something you have for a short, powerful advantage. Click anywhere to continue.
- 02
Find its magic words
Type !spells to open your spell library and select the new ability. Its magic words, mana cost, duration, and cooldown are shown together. You cast it by typing those words exactly, or from a hotkey.
- 03
Understand the sacrifice
A buff asks for a real cost, usually current mana or a temporary weakness, in exchange for a strong combat window. A debuff weakens your enemy for a short time and then rests on a much longer cooldown. Read both numbers before you rely on it.
- 04
Bind it to a key
Open the hotkey manager, add a key next to your healing key, type the magic words as the hotkey text, and enable Send automatically. A buff you have to type is a buff you will forget in a fight.
- 05
Cast it and watch the icon
Cast the spell once. An active effect appears as an icon with its remaining time, so you can always see whether your window is still open. Use it right before a group or a hard enemy, never after you are already in trouble.
- 06
Where the rest come from
Most buffs and debuffs in Titan are learned from Talent Grid keystones, so every new build can change which effects you carry. Open the Library and pick the System Guide for every effect, its sacrifice, and its cooldown rule.
Buff spells
A buff asks for a meaningful sacrifice, such as current mana, in exchange for a short and powerful combat window.
Debuff spells
Debuffs apply a smaller disadvantage for a short period. Their cooldown is intentionally much longer than their active duration.
Talent procs
Owned nodes can trigger configured effects when attacking, receiving a hit, or killing an enemy. Each proc has its own chance and cooldown guard.
What does not create an icon
Permanent equipment attributes do not create buff icons. Standard haste and magic shield also retain their familiar native presentation.
Stacking
The condition record explains what changes and by how much. Reapplication and stacking follow the specific effect definition rather than a universal assumption.
